A car already armed with exceptional performance, we set our goal in developing a rear wing the Civic Type R that can provide a wide range of setting options and even be effective in motorsports competition.
Applying CFD mechanics from initial design, the product under went wind tunnel testing to obtain proof of performance.
After making numerous desktop considerations in terms of size, structure and wing angles, we produced several proto-types. The proto-types were placed in a wind tunnel testing facility to take drag and downforce measurements.
The proto-types that were observed to be effective in the wind tunnel were taken and installed to a car for real-world testing on track. The design was only finalized after rigorous comparison.
Implementing CFD to the initial design, desk-top testing on various aspects, proto-typing and wind tunnel testing. The product underwent numerous stages of development, finally being tested on track for lap times and feedback from our drivers. We are confident that our development process for this product was efficient and effective.
